Leia’s Got A Lightsaber In New Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker TV Spot

There are two characters who we haven’t seen much of in the marketing for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ,  for obvious reasons. Of course, we’re taking about Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, who are set to show up in Episode IX but either haven’t been seen in the flesh in the trailers (Luke) or have been absent on all the posters that’ve been released (Luke and Leia). But now it looks like things are starting to change a bit. Last night, we got a brand new one-sheet which finally featured the iconic characters and this morning, the marketing barrage continues with yet another TV spot . At only 30 seconds in length, there’s not a whole lot to digest here, but we do get to see Leia once more, and this time, holding a lightsaber, while there’s also an ominous tease from the Emperor at the end, as he says: “Let the final battle begin.” Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker IMAX Poster Features Luke And Leia 1 of 2     Click to skip MORE FROM THE WEB Click to

The Internet Thinks Netflix’s The Irishman Is Pretty Boring

Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman finally arrived on Netflix on this week. The highly-anticipated and long-in-development gangster film sees Scorsese, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci reuniting for the first time since Casino and it’s also the first time Scorsese and Al Pacino have ever worked together (if you can believe it). And the film is apparently living up to all the hype according to critics. With a 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, folks are praising The Irishman as an epic and meditative story about mortality. “It’s a cinematic tour de force in form and substance, representing late-career high points for director Scorsese and his lead actors Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci,” says the Toronto Star’s Peter Howell. “There are 209 minutes in The Irishman and not one of them is wasted,” says Chris Hewitt of the Minneapolis Tribune. Even our own Luke Parker is singing its praises as fantastic, saying the following in his review: Handled cautiously and confidently by a pi

Natalie Portman May Return As Thor In Captain Marvel 2

Up until this year, Natalie Portman had a rather rocky relationship with Marvel Studios . Jane Foster   was generally considered a fairly boring character who was just ‘Thor’s girlfriend.’ Portman was also reportedly unhappy with Patty Jenkins’ decision to quit Thor: The Dark World and became frustrated with Jane not being given much to do. So, it wasn’t a huge surprise when she didn’t appear in Thor: Ragnarok and her cameo in Avengers: Endgame was digitally composited from unused footage. But now she’s coming back to the MCU with a bang. Or, to be more specific, a crash of thunder. Jane Foster will be taking up the mantle of Thor in  Thor: Love and Thunder , following in the footsteps of the comic book Jane Foster. Chris Hemsworth will still play a large part in the movie, but having renounced the throne of Asgard, he’s expected to rechristen himself ‘Odinson.’ Now, it seems that Marvel Studios are so pleased with the way Portman is shaping up as the new Thor that they’re eager

Bradley Cooper Reportedly Being Eyed To Play Batman In Joker 2

One of the biggest questions audiences had after  Joker   was how would Batman fit into this new universe? The film dropped enough hints about the character: showing Arthur Fleck meeting a young Bruce Wayne and the riot he inspired indirectly leading to Thomas and Martha Wayne’s murder. As such, it seems inevitable then that any Joker  sequel will have to deal with the introduction of Batman and his ties with Arthur. Obviously, we have no concrete details on how that would work, but despite what Deadline has said in recent weeks, a follow-up is definitely in development – The Hollywood Reporter, who broke the news , is sticking by their story, too – and according to our sources – the same ones who told us about the  Joker  sequel weeks before THR announced it , and that an  Arrow  spinoff was happening way back in March – Batman’s indeed expected to appear in either that film or, if plans change, then in Joker 3 , as Warner Bros. is apparently planning to make a trilogy . But what’s
